BTSD-Level 4 Certificate

Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) and:

Mature Applicant with standing in the required courses stated above
  Recommended Academic Preparation
 

• Grade 12 Business English
• Grade 11 Mathematics for Technology or Mathematics for Business and Consumers
• Grade 11 or Grade 12 Fashion Arts or Family Studies - Clothing
• Courses in Business Studies, Visual Arts, Marketing, Keyboarding, Computer Studies

  Recommended Personal Preparation
 

•Students should develop strong communication skills necessary to work with the general public.
• Personal hobbies in drawing, photography, reading of Fashion magazines is encouraged.

  Applicant Selection Criteria

A. Preference for Permanent Residents of Ontario.
B. Receipt of Application by February 1st.
C. Achievement in the Required Academic Preparation.

  General Eligibility Criteria
  Admission requirements for Career Programs
• Ontario system - Equivalent Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) with courses at the General Level
• American system - Grade 12 or high school diploma
• The minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 for the paper-based test and 213 for the computerbased test
• For programs that have a Grade 12 English, Advanced Level requirement, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 570 for the paper-based and 230 for the computer-based test
• Some programs have additional academic requirements. (For example: General Certificate of Education at the Advanced Level for most health programs.) Please refer to the Fanshawe College Program Guide which lists complete details and requirements for our Career ProgramsAdmission requirements for English as a Second Language (ESL) courses and special International Programs
• You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the ESL program of study
• For direct entry into the General Arts and Science for International Students, TOEFL 500 (paper-based) or 173 (computer-based) is required. Receipts will be issued.

  General Info & Fees
 

Application Deposit
A $100 deposit must be received by Fanshawe College when an application is submitted. This deposit is applied to tuition when the student begins classes.
An additional $400 deposit must be received by Fanshawe College once the applicant has received their Letter of Admission in order to confirm their place in the program. This deposit is applied to tuition when the student begins classes.

Non-Refundable Fees

$250 of the above deposit is non-refundable. An additional $100 of the deposit is also non-refundable if the student has requested our Homestay Service.

Refundable Fees
ESL
If a student withdraws from ESL within the first five (5) days of classes, there is a refund of fees paid less the non-refundable fees stated above. After the fifth (5th) day of classes, there is no refund.

Post Secondary Programs
If a student withdraws from a Post Secondary program within the first ten (10) days of classes, there is a refund of fees paid less the non-refundable fees stated above and the miscellaneous fee, if applicable. After the tenth (10th) day of classes, there is no refund of fees for the current term.

Expected living expenses
In addition to the above fees, you will need an additional $1500 - $2000 (Canadian funds) per month to cover:
• Accommodation
• Transportation
• Food
• Books
• School supplies
• Entertainment

Accommodation: Homestay
For Homestay, the cost is $150 (Canadian funds) per week. A one-time administration fee of $100 also applies. This includes a private bedroom and food for three meals per day, seven days per week.

Residence (On-campus)

Cost: $550 per month (if 8 months (one academic year) is paid in advance)
Deposit: $250
Food is not included.
